Over the rainbow : interprétation de Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

Today I would like to talk about the last song I fell in love with : "over the rainbow" sang by the Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwoʻole.  Usually I don't like cover versions, but every rule has its exception !

I love the way the singer performs the song, and
of course, the fact that the video has been shot on an island makes me like it even more ! I love the atmosphere so particular to islands : colours, smiles, the people's warmth, nonchalance, water, the tropical weather...

When I watch this kind of video, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic about the few months I've been living on the Réunion island. I miss the way of life and the state of mind of this place, as well as the permanent discoveries and adventures... I took my camera everywhere I went, even at work, where I once brought it to the toilets in order to shot a "so-cute-baby-gecko"...

Enjoy listening to the song !

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby ii ii iii
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me ee ee eeh
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops thats where you'll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can't I? i iiii

Well I see trees of green and
Red roses too,
I'll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark and I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, I...I love you
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more
Than we'll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world (w)oohoorld

Someday I'll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that's where you'll find me
Oh, Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can't I? I hiii ?

La Ciotat et la mer...

Salut !

Hi there !

Perhaps you already knew it : I now live in Aubagne, a city located in the South East of France, not far from Marseille. I also work in this area. Thus, I take advantage of my free time to wander around and to discover this region.  As I've always been deeply in love with the Sea, I have to admit that I was quite lucky to land in this area ! Nevertheless there's one thing I regret : although I'm just next to the Sea, I never see it during the week, because I'm too much inland... Anyway I'm sure Sea is my destiny. ;) Even if I don't really believe in Destiny.

Ok. Then I'll stop telling you my life, and I'll come to the real subject of this article. I would just like to post some photographies shot in La Ciotat city. I didn't visit it enough to be able to tell you what I think about it, but I would say that at first sight, it's cute but not outstanding.

However, Sea being Sea, wherever it is, it remains beautiful ! Except, of course, when the Human being destroys everything with oil and rubbish...
